Michael Ortiz is a seasoned professional in the agricultural trading industry with an extensive career spanning over several decades. His trading journey started in the soybean pit at the Chicago Board of Trade in the 1980s. In the 1990s, he traded in interest rate and FX markets. When financial markets shifted from the pits to the screen, Ortiz identified an opportunity to take financial markets OTC strategies to agriculture. He went on to become one of the founders of the agricultural OTC industry, founding Refco’s commodity OTC unit, expand agricultural OTC trading at Cargill Risk Management, run the OTC program for the Australian Wheat Board, and founded an agricultural option managed account program sponsored by Kottke and Associates.
During the Crash of 2008, Ortiz’s program returned an impressive 12.88% after fees. He subsequently founded Hanley Group Capital’s OTC business, which he engineered the aquisition by INTL FCStone, where he was named President and Head Trader of the INTL FCStone Markets. He joined ED&F Man in 2014 to build their OTC platform before founding Pack Creek Capital in 2017. Over the period of 2010 to 2017, Ortiz generated over $350 million in aggregate trading profits with no losing months and over 600% return on allocated capital.
In 2017 Ortiz founded Pack Creek Capital which operates as a NFA Swap CTA. Pack Creek currently runs a an AG option investor program and has managed many seasonal AG commercial programs out performing the competitors which were tracked. Ortiz holds a degree in economics from the University of Colorado.

Taylor Ortiz began her career in institutional sales trading in the equity markets at Jones Trading and Macquarie Bank. She has experience trading in Asian, European, and US equity markets for hedge funds around the world. During her time at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, Taylor interned on commodity trading desks where she gained knowledge of option theory and OTC structures. Currently, Taylor is responsible for business development at Pack Creek Capital for commercial agriculture and the Investor Series managed account program.

Dick Dunlap began his career in the capital markets in 1989 as an option market maker in the corn options pit with Kottke and Associates. In the early 1990s, as the financial futures pits began to grow at the Chicago Board of Trade, Dunlap started a brokerage group in the five-year treasury note futures. He and his team of fifteen clerks executed tens of millions of futures and options contracts for the world's largest banks and hedge funds.
In the fall of 2010, Dunlap left the trading pits to work on capital introduction for an emerging manager in the CTA hedge fund space, Metolius Capital. In 2015, he partnered with a large family office in the CTA hedge fund space to launch Trowbridge Trading, an Introducing Broker. Trowbridge Trading now oversees over a billion dollars in notionally traded funds across all asset classes.

Alberto Alvarez attended Duke University and the University of Florida with a Degree in Economics.
Alberto brings over 40 years of experience in the Commodities Field, Having worked with Producers and Consumers of Grains and Soft commodities. His knowledge combines not only the workings of OTC and Futures Hedging, but he also has extensive experience in Origination, Purchasing, Basis Trading, and the Logistical intricacies of importing Grain Cross border from the US and Canada into Mexico.
Among his accomplishments are the following:
Recognized the importance of Miami in the financial arena as a player for Latin America in the 1980s. He founded with Shearson Lehman American Express International Branch, an office in Miami for their International Division.
During the 1980’s Alberto was Senior Vice President, Founder, and Branch Manager of Shearson Lehman American Express Latin America Office. It was the only other International office in the United States besides Headquarters in New York City. There he oversaw the Latin American region’s International Branch Offices and their trading.
Created with American Express LAROC (Latin American Regional Center), a Gold American Express Card program tied to Latin American Clients Stock and Commodity Accounts. The program became hugely successful. In those days, access to Credit Lines and US-based American Express cards was not readily available for Latin America.
Alberto was at the forefront in Mexico when NAFTA was signed into Law, becoming a Consultant in Hedging Grupo Bimbo’s Wheat flour needs. He was instrumental in setting up a program within Bimbo that helped them Purchase, Hedge in the Futures Markets, and Negotiate Basis and Logistics for their yearly wheat needs. Through his consulting services, Alberto organized, supervised, and educated their purchasing department, executing both Futures and Physical aspects, concluding in the delivery of wheat shipments to their various mills throughout the country. This program included extensive work in Origination and Transportation through Rail and Maritime Bulk Vessels. He was responsible for buying, trading, and selling 750,000 to 1 million Metric Tons of wheat per year into Mexico to different suppliers of flour that served Grupo Bimbo’s factories and other Millers in the country.

In Argentina, he introduced the first OTC-specifically designed products for the Matba Exchange to be used locally in Argentina by the commercial players of Physical grain on the exchange. It permitted a more customized solution and added diversity to how members could trade their production or consumption on the Matba exchange. The growth of the product was robust until the last Presidential elections resulted in a new administration restricting the flow of dollars in and out of the country.
He became a member of the Rofex and Matba exchanges in Argentina, developing a very close relationship with Both Presidents and CEOs of the Exchanges. He collaborated closely with the Exchanges to help merge them into one sole exchange, now known as Matba/Rofex exchange.
Currently Co-Founder and Managing Director of Fintec Group, Miami, and IIB, he offers advanced hedge solutions to Consuming and Producing clients in the Agricultural and Natural Resources fields.

Rafael dos Anjos

Rafael dos Anjos has more than 15 years of experience in trading and risk management, having worked at reputable financial institutions such as Macquarie and Santander. He spent five years at ED&F MAN, one of the world’s largest traders of sugar and coffee, where he gained experience in physical contracts, derivatives (listed and OTC), and proprietary/speculative positions in various asset classes such as agriculture, energy, metals, and foreign exchange.
In addition to his financial background, Rafael has a strong educational background, having earned a master’s degree in economics from the University of São Paulo and INSPER in Brazil. He also has training in robotics/mechatronics engineering, which has enabled him to apply his expertise in quant computing and financial engineering to a variety of projects.
Currently, Rafael is focused on UHEDGE – Trading Solutions, a technology-based trading firm that he founded.
Rafael’s investment firm has just been approved by the Brazilian Central Bank as a registered asset manager. Michael Ortiz serves as a board member.

Stacey is the Managing Principal of The Mankoff Company, a FinTech marketing firm offering a comprehensive range of customized marketing, project management and branding services. Stacey is also Founder of After the Bell events that utilize panel discussions to engage companies, provide a platform for education, networking, and debate on the most pressing industry issues in the financial, FinTech, and digital/crypto sectors. In autumn 2020, she launched The Bellringer, a YouTube series of one-on-one recorded interviews with thought leaders in Finance and FinTech.
Before entering the conference industry with IIR (creators of the GAIM events) and WBR (creators of TradeTech), Stacey held senior sales and marketing positions at Saatchi & Saatchi, Lehman Brothers, Dun & Bradstreet and Thomson Reuters. She is on the Advisory Board of QuantsGiveBack, the New York City Board of BitAngels, and is a member of Women on Wall Street. For over a decade, Stacey has been a key industry liaison and connector in the financial trading and crypto/digital asset communities. Her work has been published in Blockchain.io, ProActive Advisor, Advisor Perspectives, Chainium, BNC, and she has spoken at conferences worldwide.
Stacey holds a BA in English & History from the State University of New York in Binghamton; an adjunct degree in Economic History from the London School of Economics; and a Graduate Certificate in Public Relations/Marketing from New York University.

He holds a B.A. in Economics from ITAM, a master’s degree in Economics from Essex University in the United Kingdom, and a Diplomat on Top Business Administration at IPADE.
Alejandro has over 30 years of professional experience working in the public and private sectors.
In the public sector held appointments like CEO of ASERCA, a decentralized agency of the Mexican Secretariat of Agriculture, and Director of the office of the Secretary of Treasury, Dr. Agustin Carstens, and participated in diverse activities related to economic studies, commercial negotiations, economic development, promotion of agri-food exports, and rural financing.
In the private sector, he worked for BANORTE Bank, and Mission Foods as Chief Communicator Officer, and has also held diverse positions in companies focused on financial consulting.
Alejandro is a member of the International “Who’s Who of Professionals”, was a member of the Board of the Woodrow Wilson Center, and received the Honoris Causa Doctorate from the Mexican Institute Leaders of Excellency.
As of June 2021, he is the Director of the Proagro Risk Management Division, an area specialized in price risk management, advice on agricultural marketing, and optimization of strategies to protect price risks through specialized financial instruments in Proagro Insurance Company.
